Patriotic Weekend’s Activities Include Live Performances By True Texas Music Legends Gary P. Nunn and Billy Joe Shaver, VIP Experience, Kids’ Carnival, Bean Bag Tournament, BBQ Cook-off and Fun Run ![]() The Sealy Community Foundation brings first-class entertainment and family fun to Sealy’s 9th Annual Sealybration July 7-8, 2017. The “can’t-miss” summer festival is again presented by sponsor, Sealy Mattress, which connects the global company back to its roots in Sealy, Texas. The beauty of Sealybration is that it’s a weekend of family fun and memories that also raises money for area high school seniors and many local organizations,” said Melanie Willingham, President of the Sealy Community Foundation. “The SCF board and volunteers have been hard at work planning an event that everyone will enjoy. Bring your family out, and enjoy a weekend of summer fun!” The gates open at 6 p.m. Friday, July 7, featuring specialty booths, bean bag tournament, the Kidzone carnival, BBQ cook-off and Annual Stars & Strikes Classic softball tournament. The 5 Alarm 5K and 1K Rookie fun runs are also held Friday night and benefit the Sealy Volunteer Fire Department. Come out Friday, and kick off the weekend with the Texas Unlimited Band’s mix of classic and present-day country. The gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday for all-day fun at the Kidzone carnival and softball tournament, as well as the specialty booths. Musical entertainment starts at 5 p.m. with up and coming Texas singer-songwriter John Baumann followed at 6 p.m. by Cameran Nelson, who’s sound is country with a rock edge. Sealy will have the honor of hosting two Texas music legends Billy Joe Shaver and Gary P. Nunn, who will take over the stage at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., respectively. The flamboyantly unique Bag of Donuts will keep the party going at 11:30 p.m. jamming to hits from the ‘60s to present day. The popular VIP experience is $60 per ticket and includes reserved parking close to the venue, front row seats for the concerts, a catered meal, discounted beer, private restrooms and an unrestricted view of the fireworks. Also, all VIP ticket holders will be entered in drawings to attend meet-and-greets with the musical entertainers and Sealy Mattresses! Admission for Friday, July 7 is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12. Those five and under are free with festival hours running from 6 p.m. until midnight. Saturday, July 8 entry is $10 for adults from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and $15 from 5 p.m. until close. Children 6-12 are $5, and five and under are free all day.
