![]() April 1, 2016 - At the first ever Sealybration Launch Party this week, the Sealy Community Foundation announced the performance line-up for Sealybration 2016 to be held July 8-9. The foundation also made the big announcement that Sealy Mattress is the festival’s first presenting sponsor, connecting the global company back to its roots in Sealy, Texas. American country superstar and Texas native Mark Chesnutt will headline Saturday night. The foundation is also excited to host Sealy’s own Jamie Lin Wilson, a popular Americana singer-songwriter who will open up for Chesnutt. Closing out Saturday night is Shinyribs, a crowd pleasing alternative country soul funk band. The Sealy Community Foundation is proud to provide a platform for rising musicians Jordan York of College Station and Dolly Shine of Stephenville, who will kick-off Saturday night. Kevin Robinson, a traditional country artist, will perform Friday. Mark Chesnutt: Headliner Mark Chesnutt is a true Texas treasure. Chestnutt is best known for hits “Too Cold At Home,” “Brother Jukebox,” and “Almost Goodbye.” He has 14 number one hits, 23 top ten singles, four platinum albums and five gold records and maintains a busy tour schedule year after year. Jamie Lin Wilson: Sealy native Jamie Lin Wilson is back to perform at Sealybration for the second time and will be opening up for headliner Chesnutt. In her 15 years as a singer-songwriter, Wilson has developed a following both as a solo act and as a member of Americana/country groups The Gougers and The Trishas. Wilson recently released her first full-length solo album, “Holidays and Wedding Rings,” and regularly performs in popular venues such as Gruene Hall, Dosey Doe, Sam’s Burger Joint, Schroeder Hall and the Steamboat Springs Music Fest in Colorado. Shinyribs: Shinyribs is known for their country soul funk sound and crowd-pleasing, energetic performances. Formerly of The Gourds, Kevin Russell fronts the band and can be seen playing his 6 string Uke or his Electric guitar or even going a cappella. Shinyribs is rounded out by a world-class band featuring Winfield Cheek on Keyboards, Keith Langford on Drums, Jeff Brown on Bass and the Tijuana Train Wreck Horns. Their songs range from original tunes to new takes on popular old and new songs like “All About That Base” and “No Diggity.” According to the Shinyribs website, the band is about having the best time possible. Jordan York; Texas singer-songwriter Jordan York has been a long time musician throughout the Red Dirt/ Texas Country scene. He started off playing bass with many recognizable artists and is now pursuing his own solo career in the Texas scene. His music is a mix of Americana, Texas country and blues. Dolly Shine: Up and coming Texas country music band Dolly Shine is currently working on a new album “Walkabout,” which is scheduled for release in June. Their music is described as Americana, outlaw country and honky tonk. Kevin Robinson: Texas singer-songwriter Kevin Robinson and his band will kick-off Sealybration on Friday, July 8, with a performance perfect for two-stepping to. With idols like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Willie Nelson and Lefty Frizzell, Robinson stays true to his country roots playing a mix of old and new country tunes.
